Sarah Palin sounds like Miss Teen South Carolina... again

Well, she was in a beauty pageant, right?

I love the irony in Sarah's response, especially-- "in terms of being able to answer a question forthrightly". Jeez, just look at this response, not to mention the numerous others that make little or no sense!! She can't compose coherent sentences, yet she has the gall to criticize (however misguided, but that's another rant) someone else for allegedly being evasive.

From the op-ed in the NY Times:

"Palin finally took questions on Tuesday from her traveling press corps on her campaign plane. Asked if she thought Senator Obama was dishonest, McCain’s Mean Girl meandered:

“I’m not saying he’s dishonest, but in terms of judgment, in terms of being able to answer a question forthrightly, it has two different parts to this. The judgment and the truthfulness and just being able to answer very candidly a simple question about when did you know him, how did you know him, is there still — has there been an association continued since ’02 or ’05, I know I’ve read a couple different stories. I think it’s relevant.”

Most Disapproved President Ever - Andrew Sullivan

Bush hits 70 percent disapproval in ABC News' poll. That's never happened in the history of the poll since 1938. Worse than Nixon. And so richly deserved.

Social Security Close Call

This is from Crooks and Liars regarding Something Jack Cafferty said:

Jack Cafferty is the only person I’ve seen on TV so far to make this incredibly important point: If George Bush and John McCain had their way with privatizing Social Security, millions of seniors would be totally screwed right now.

"You may remember just four years ago President Bush made a big push to partially privatize Social Security… You know so we could individually invest our future with the great minds on Wall Street. It failed back then, but that concept could still become a reality. See John McCain also supports supplementing Social Security with private investment accounts. His opponent Barack Obama does not.”

Crooks and Liars » Cafferty Mocks McCain: Is privatizing Social Security really a good idea?

Wow! So many more people would have been screwed with this.

We need to clean house.

New Barack Obama Ad

They're Gonna Go Crazy On You

Thursday afternoon, Heart e-mailed out a statement regarding vice-presidential candidate Sarah "Barracuda" Palin's use of their similarly monikered song at the Republican National Convention: "The Republican campaign did not ask for permission to use the song, nor would they have been granted that permission," it read. "We have asked the Republican campaign publicly not to use our music. We hope our wishes will be honored."
Exclusive: Heart's Nancy Wilson responds to McCain campaign's use of 'Barracuda' at Republican convention | Current Affairs, Music, Music Biz | Hollywood Insider | EW.com

I read this over at Towleroad.

Here is the statement they emailed over to Entertainment Weekly:

"Sarah Palin's views and values in NO WAY represent us as American women. We ask that our song 'Barracuda' no longer be used to promote her image. The song 'Barracuda' was written in the late 70s as a scathing rant against the soulless, corporate nature of the music business, particularly for women. (The 'barracuda' represented the business.) While Heart did not and would not authorize the use of their song at the RNC, there's irony in Republican strategists' choice to make use of it there."
And that's why we LOVE our Heart gals!
